This websites is designed to advocate, engage, encourage, and inform teachers, parents, and students about the happenings in Gifted Education in
North Carolina and elsewhere in the United States. recognizing Each gifted and talented student has different needs facilitating access to  informaton provided by organizations, university and groups will help teachers, parents and gifted and talented students to find success.

 Article 9B § 115C 

While definitions vary, most states have adopted a definition similar to that used by the State of North Carolina which defines "academically or intellectually gifted student" as a child that exhibits high performance capability in intellectual areas, specific academic fields, or in both intellectual areas and specific academic fields.
